Cartridges4less

A few weeks ago we launched Cartridges4less, another ecommerce site based on Magento. If you’re in Australia and looking for cheap but quality printer catridges, look no further.

I built the complete frontend including underlying technology, which required me to master a few interesting challenges to realise all the functionality that was requested. The front page for example features fancy AJAX search for cartriges and printer models – however with a database of several thousand products I needed to implement a caching mechanism to keep the AJAX response times near realtime. As a website user I would expect realtime, waiting times of several seconds are not great.

The design was created by John from Hobart Design and Martin did a great job with the import script for the thousands of products.
