My latest project was launched a few days ago: talkinbooks. It’s an online shop for audio books and short stories, a project sponsored by the University of Tasmania. The site is based on Magento with some interesting customisations like subscription memberships and audio streaming for product samples.

What makes talkinbooks special is that they record the audio books themselves, and they also serve short stories rather than only full books. That way prices can be kept low, and by signing up for a subscription you have access to even lower prices for members.

Their collection includes many public domain books and rare titles, but it is a growing project and new titles will be added all the time.
