Babes in Arms

Babes in Arms is a popular Australian company offering baby carriers and accessories. Their new online shop is based on Magento, and I built all the shop templates, based on a fantastic design by Holly Webber.

It integrates a Wordpress blog for news and articles, as the CMS functions of Magento were too limited. There are also multiple shop fronts for individual brands. I’m especially proud of this site - it features a beautiful design and I had the freedom to build it all by myself.

Cartridges4Less

Cartridges4less is a Tasmanian online shop for printer cartridges and supplies. The shop is based on Magento and features a great design by Hobart Design.

I have built the complete frontend and developed the underlying technology to realise an Ajax product selector on the homepage and on category pages. A caching mechanism keeps the Ajax search times to near-realtime despite the many thousand products offered by Cartridges4less.

CAST Gallery

Contemporary Art Spaces Tasmania (CAST) is an art gallery in Hobart, offering exhibitions, projects and artist support around contemporary art. For their new website I developed several custom Joomla plugins, allowing comfortable managing of artists and exhibitions, with multimedia integration and flexible presentation on the website.

Two major extensions for the frontend are a custom-built shopping cart for their publications shop and an online membership application form, both capable of taking credit card payments via SSL.

EQUELLA

EQUELLA is an award-winning digital repository that incorporates learning objects, learning content management and integrated content authoring. Recently the system underwent a complete re-skin based on a new design by Hobart Design.

Part of my work was to build prototypes for a variety of different screens so the team of developers at EQUELLA could apply the new screen designs to the backend.

Peach Season

The idea of Peach Season is as special as adorable: people from Norfolk Island who live abroad can order local gifts and specialities for relatives and friends on the island, with personal delivery.

I liked building this Magento-based store because of the beautifully artistic design by Holly Webber and the challenge to make it work on all platforms. It works fine in all browsers including Internet Explorer 6. It also features a small Flash applet that allows streaming of sounds from Norfolk Island while browsing the shop, as well as a recently added Wordpress blog.

Shadforth Financial Group

Shadforth Financial Group is one of Australia’s leading privately-owned financial advisory firms. In 2009 their website received a re-skin based on a design supplied by Hobart Design.

My work included building the whole website and reworking the client portfolio manager, to match the new website design.
Note: the main website has since been redesigned again.

Wireless Tasmania

The Wireless Tasmania project is about bringing wireless connectivity to tourism hotspots in Tasmania. At the moment it covers the Hobart Waterfront area and Salamanca.

The website will be shown when users log on to the wireless hotspot. Basic limited internet access is free after a quick sign up process. I also added a website version for mobile phones, it works well on iPhones but also on older devices.
